Tarmac Motorkhana
No straight section of the course may exceed 100 metres in length without a turn of at least 90°. Each test is designed to test the acceleration, braking and general manoeuvrability of the vehicle and the skill and judgement of the driver. The course for each test is marked by the appropriate use of arrows and/or direction markers. Only one car is allowed on each test at any one time.
Can be on Sealed or Unsealed surfaces.
Penalties include -
- wrong direction
- knocking over a marker
- failing to garage correctly
One vehicle goes at a time, and it is a low speed event.
Classes are determined on vehicle wheel base.
No modifications needed to compete, although cars must be safety checked at scrutineering, before the event. Drivers wanting to compete must be a member of an affiliated CAMS club, and hold a level 2 CAMS licence which can be purchased on the day from the organising club.
Tarmac Khanacross
Can be on Sealed or Unsealed surfaces.
Tarmac Khanacross is similar to Tarmac Motorkhana’s, testing the drivers ability and skill
using the cars acceleration and braking to traverse a nominated course.
Penalties include -
- Wrong direction
- Knocking over a marker
- Failing to garage correctly
Vehicles must have a fire extinguisher bolted in the car, also need to pass the Scrutineering safety check. Drivers must also wear a racing helmet. Classes are determined by driver grading. Drivers wanting to compete must be a member of an affiliated CAMS club and hold a minimum of level 2 CAMS licence, which can be purchased on the day from the organising club.
